PROJECT OVERVIEW

Democratizing Green Capital

Verde Ventures is a tokenized crowdfunding platform engineered to turn complex, high-barrier clean energy investments into an accessible, fractional digital experience. Developed for the Master in Fintech, Blockchain, and Financial Markets at the University of Barcelona, the product bridges institutional climate infrastructure and individual retail investors through a compliance-aware Web3 layer.

The design thesis treats blockchain not as spectacle, but as transactional infrastructure: smart contract vaults on Sepolia testnet, wallet-native settlement flows, and a high-fidelity interface that makes yield, tenure, and environmental impact legible at a glance. Every screen in the v1.0 build maps to a real step in the investor journey—from protocol discovery to on-chain token mint.

The Discovery Flow

Before an investor ever connects a wallet, the platform must earn trust. The Protocol Core module (`// 002 / PROTOCOL_CORE`) breaks dense fintech tokenization mechanics into a three-tiered interactive system—each layer pairing concise metadata summaries with an immersive WebGL canvas that visualizes on-chain abstraction as kinetic geometry.

Asset Fractionalization turns real-world green infrastructure into ERC-20 yield tokens backed by audited SPVs, eliminating minimum ticket barriers that lock retail capital out of institutional deals. Decentralized by Design leverages immutable ledgers for transparent verification—every issuance, transfer, and yield event is auditable without parsing opaque PDF prospectuses.

Automated ROU completes the protocol stack by streaming recurring yield distributions through smart contract vaults, replacing manual reconciliation with programmable settlement. The asymmetric tab-and-canvas layout lets users scan technical detail on the left while the right panel builds confidence through motion and depth—a deliberate pairing of clarity and immersion.

The Sandbox Interaction Workflow

The end-to-end dApp Testnet Sandbox (`// 003 / DAPP_SANDBOX`) deconstructs the full investor journey from discovery to settlement inside a live Sepolia environment. A persistent status bar surfaces network state, portfolio positions, and wallet connectivity—grounding every interaction in verifiable on-chain context before capital moves.

Discovery begins with data-rich project cards across three renewable vectors: Helios-4 Solar Array in Almería, Spain; Aeolus Wind Network in the North Sea, Netherlands; and Hydro-Volt Cascade in Trondheim, Norway. Each card surfaces real-time crowdfunding progress, tenor, expected APY, token ticker, and annual CO₂ offset—turning institutional-grade deal terms into scannable retail UI.

Commitment flows through interactive funding trackers and a frictionless checkout pipeline: Web3 wallet authentication via MetaMask or WalletConnect, multi-rail payment processing (mock fiat or crypto), and a final minting transaction verified directly on Sepolia testnet. The sandbox is not a static prototype—it is a functional read/write environment where design and engineering converge.

Technical Validation & Experimental Value

The project extends beyond interface design into full-stack execution: Solidity smart contract vaults deployed and verified on Sepolia testnet, React front-end with live blockchain read/write states, and WalletConnect integration for wallet-native authentication. Each UI component maps to a contract method—connect, contribute, mint, and track—creating a closed loop between design intent and on-chain behavior.

Combining fully functional blockchain states with a modern, high-fidelity design system positions this work at the intersection of transactional product design and creative technology. The dark-mode Web3 aesthetic—purple accent system, monospace metadata rails, corner-bracket stat cards—signals protocol credibility without sacrificing the clarity retail investors require.

Regulatory alignment against ECSPR crowdfunding standards and MiCA digital-asset guardrails was embedded into interface logic from the start: disclosure patterns, investor categorization flows, and token issuance states map directly to compliance checkpoints—reducing downstream legal friction while keeping the experience approachable.
